93% of managers say their IT teams "lack the skills"
The Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), has released the results of its online survey conducted between December 2011 and January 2012.
In the survey, 502 IT and business managers in the US were asked about skill shortages inside their IT departments, the impact of those deficiencies and how they planned to address these skills shortages. An amazing 93% of the respondents reported 'some gap' between the technical skills that their IT staff possessed and the skills the company actually needed. 83% say that the gap is 'small to moderate' while 9% claim that their IT skills are not where they need to be at all.
