How to hack Windows XP Admin Passwords

Source: Anticrack

This hack will only work if the person that owns the machine
has no intelligence. This is how it works:

When you or anyone installs Windows XP for the first time your
asked to put in your username and up to five others.

Now, unknownst to a lot of other people this is the only place in
Windows XP that you can password the default Administrator Diagnostic
Account. This means that to by pass most administrators accounts
on Windows XP all you have to do is boot to safe mode by pressing F8
during boot up and choosing it. Log into the Administrator Account
and create your own or change the password on the current Account.

This only works if the user on setup specified a password for the
Administrator Account.

This has worked for me on both Windows XP Home and Pro.

I want to hack for schools admin password so that I can download things. I can't install shit onto this laptop. I have a username and password but all I can do is open word and go on the internet. Heck, I cant even get on a lot of sites because of "Web Sense" unless I use a proxy. All i want to do is download a few things so when I'm at home I have something to do on my laptop. So, if anyone know how I can bypass the admin password holla!.. thx and pe@ce out...

DUDE this is in plain english!! Dont FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK out
http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm

Reboot, hit F8, and enter "Directory Service Recovery Mode". The machine will boot up as a standalone server without any Active Directory support.

When the login screen appears, hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and log in as "Administrator" with no password. This is the MACHINE Administrator account, and does not have the ability to modify anything specific involving the Active Directory information, although it can backup and restore the physical files which contain the AD databases.

Run "regedit". Navigate to

HKEY_USERS.DefaultControl PanelDesktop

and change the following values:

SCRNSAVE.EXE - change from logon.scr to cmd.exe

ScreenSaveTimeout change from 900 to 15

Reboot normally. When the box appears asking you to hit CTRL-ALT-DEL to log in, just wait.

After 15-30 seconds you will see a command prompt appear (since that is the screensaver).

In the command prompt, type the following command:

C:WINNTsystem32>MMC DSA.MSC

This should bring up the management console where you can edit users' passwords, including the password for the Administrator account.

After resetting the Administrator password, exit the management console and type the command EXIT in the command prompt window.

Hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and log into the DOMAIN Administrator account using the new password!

Don't forget to undo the changes you made to the registry, or you will always have a command prompt with Domain Administrator rights appear whenever somebody logs out.

Thanks John! Read more about this

omfg. Some of you people are freaking idiots! Please think before you post. Maybe stop and read what others have asked.

90% of these posts are "Oh, my account on [whoever]'s computer is limited. Is there a way to just maybe "view" the admin password? I'm a freaking dumbass so it has to be easy like press a button or something.

You call any of this "hacking"??? Bull.

A prerequisite for being a hacker is actually being computer literate. If you knew how your computer worked you could probably find a way to get the admin password yourself.

And another thing. Don't really on downloading tools from the Internet. why not build your own set of tools. Or you can use the abundant tools provided with most operating systems.

Windows - So easy to crack no wonder it's #1

Linux - If you can't use this you're stupid. Same goes for most *nix

It's really sad when the computers smarter then the user. Makes you think about who should be serving who.

That's right. Most of you should probably be slaves to your computers. LOL

Need help....
I have a limited account
when the computer is booted up it goes directly to the user menu where there are 5 different accounts all requiring passwords. I have access to 1 of these accounts as a limited user.
I cannot edit anything in the registry
I cannot access dos prompt
And i am resricted to downloads
LIMITED USER I TELL U...lol
PLEASE HELP i need to gain administrative rights

this message is directed to all those "expert hackers" punking off all the newbie windowz users.

What's up with these nerds who run linux on their box's and suddenly think they're l33t??? Most of the dumb fu*ks on linux only installed linux on their boxes cuz someone told them it was "cool" to do so, yet they don't have any clue how to use it. The proof is out there, on almost any TGZ, tarball there's like a million instructions explaining to users how to go about to makefile and compile! That's bloody ridiculous, real linux users don't need those type of instructions, instructions make it indictive of the fact majority of linux users don't know shit if there's an abundance of instructions explaining how to compile (lol), and think they're k'-rad because they made their gaim windows transparent!! lol. Linux is a piece of shit anyway, Single-Kernel operating system. If you "OS hackers" knew what you were talking about, you would be talking about MicroKernel RT based OS'S, such as the MINUX project and other true hyper-threaded OS's. But of course, y'all are gonna jump on that bandwagon maybe 5 years later, when people like myself have written every bloody 'tool' so you can use to make yourself appear like you're a 'hacker' hahaha Stop makign fun of these windows users, everyone has got to start somewhere. None of you dumbf*cks were born with a computer in your ass. When you start taking your computer shit that seriously, it just demonstrates how timid you are, and what your idea of pride consists of -- if all you're doing in life is sucking on your computer's flopppy dick, you're a dumb f*ck loser and I rather be a newbie.

Besides OS's alone.

Real hackers don't need to rely on OS's, they write c0de that will capture data before it even gets to the OS, ie; reading registers, directly from memory and cache, stacks, pretty much at the I/O level. Whether they be an 8085, 8086, RISC, uOS architecture.

For the guy saying to be a hacker you should be computer literate. in my professional opinion, noone is truly computer literate until you can write your own I/O drivers for your PC. How many of you 'l33t' linux users have done that?? Hhaha, I doubt it. I can throw two damn resistors in parallel and you'd all get scared at the complicated circuit!!

If you can't write drivers, you really don't know your PC like you think you do. I can write code for embedded ucontrollers, that will steal all your damn info coming on your Ethernet's physical layer, you can even format your computer a billion times and I will get your info EVERY SINGLE time...

And if you want to get fancy, you little kiddies running linux thinking you're l33t, should try doing some OFDM based IV bea hacking, ie; 802.11b WEP hacking for the 'l33t' who are not familiar with electrical engineering jargon. I can sit in my car with my laptop, capturing everyone's username's/password's, credit card info, anything your computer shines on without being anywhere close to the computer straight out of the damn f*cking air -- PERIOD. The point is, all the dumb f*cks here who think that because they run linux alone makes them some superior entity over those who only know bloody windows, think again children.. It's time to play with the big boys.

2 Scenarios.

1. If you can login to window, try Run "control userpasswords2" it will give the privilege to reset all the password for all the account in window Xp if the account your using have the admin rights. Else try 2.

2. Download the boot disk image from "http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bd041205.zip" run it to create a boot disk. Insert Boot Disk then reboot your PC it will boot to dos command. All you need to do is keep on pressing enter when it prompt u anything.Until u reach the end there's account selection to allow you to reset the password. "*" means reset password. Its pretty strait forward. Work for IDE only (may not work for raid and sata).

This is to help u to reset the password not steal the password.

In order to steal the password please refer to the post regarding SAM. U need to extract the user.sam file from WinXP and use SAM decrypter to decrypt it. Most of you know how, for those who don't know, try work harder through the web instead of asking bunch of stupid questions!

Ok... I have read through this ENTIRE page. (Yeah, I'm that desperate.) And I have still found no solution to what I'm looking for. All I want is an admin account instead of a limited. That's it.
I'm sorry I'm not completely fluent in the language of computers, but some of you "expert hackers" need to get your heads out of your @$$es and stop putting people down for not being as incredibly genius as you.
That doesn't go for everyone, just to a select few posts that seriously irked me.
So... if anyone has any working solutions, that don't involve downloading programs (limited accounts won't allow it) and are dumbed down for the less literate, please share. Thank you in advance,

~Kyae

I have read the entire page up to now and read all the posts. And have just one thing to say before I start. READ BEFORE YOU POST. I have seen the same thing about 20 times on this page.

There are many ways to hack a XP password, and there is many ways to reset one. What you need to do is decide whether or not you want the password to remain the same or whether you want to change it.

Hack a Password:

1. The best way that I know of is to use lophtcrack. Just search for it using google. The only problem with this program is that admin privalege is required. So if you do not have admin privi then you are forced to improvise, like copying the sam file to another computer, that you have admin privi on and finding the passwords. You can also remove the hard-drive and connect it as a slave to another pc and use lophtcrack in that way.
There are also many little programs you can use the problem is that as soon as the program is posted in a thread like this, a fix for XP is created by microsoft. That is why most progs remain underground.

Reset the Password:

2. This can also be done by using a program, which there are many of. Or you can download a 'REAL' script from somebody whose knows what they are doing.

Another thing you could try at your own risk would be too delete the SAM file. SAM stands for 'Security Access Manager'. To locate it just search your HD for a file named SAM (It is usually located in c:\windows\system32\config\sam). Chances are you will not be able to do it while you are log on. However you might be able to improvise, eg. using on of the meathods I used above. However it would probably be safer to replace it with another SAM file, that has the same users, just known passwords.

I know that I was not too helpful, but like I say to help you on a public thread would be giving microsoft a chance to release many more updates! This in turn woudl remove any chances I might have had in the future.

ok i go to a public network school called CROOMS AIOT they give us all laptops but i am a freshman and i got so many locks it is crazy and i cant live do u have any way finding an admin names password WITH OUT CHANGING IT AT ALL.

Hey, I got a little problem. I have no administrator priv. on win xp professional , I know user and pass of one administrator ,but that account is disabled. How I can enable that account (I know pass) without administrator priv. Thanks a lot!

uhhm, I forgot my admin. passwords.

First here's what happen- I was reading a book for my computer class, it was teaching us how to create accounts and give privilidges to it, so I went in the users and passwords, deleted the administrator group of my account, and then forgot to put back when I logged off.

Now I end up with a restricted account, I can't even install anything, keep on saying I don't have administrator rights.
Well, I try to go back to users back into [b] "Users and Passwords" [\b] but then this window pop up- The default administrator account pop-up and asked for its password, the problem is I installed the OS a long, long time ago, I don't remember the password I set it to.

What must I do to gain control of my computer back, What can I do to have administrator access back:

So I'm looking for a solution of any type: 1. whether is how to make a new account with admin rights without being in admin. accounts or have admin rights,

or 2. Resetting admin accounts,
or maybe find the admin account somewhere in some registry file-

I don't know, please help me out, just a begginer in computer, studying in class as hard as I can to become geniuses like you guys, so please give me an inspirational answer.

just help me>I feel so locked up in my own computer.I'm going to cry!BOHOO

Suzama-iro,

Awe Man! Now I really did it! Some how trying find the password, I change my current accounts password, I guess by accident- because now I don't even have the password to that. Can't log on at all.

I'm locked out of my windows 2000

Wow! I must be an Idiot I have been browsing this site, reading what all you ohh so intelegent people have been saying. What I find so Humorous, is that the same question has been asked numerous times ( how can I hack the admin or user login password, "With out Creating A New User, Or Changing the Admin Password" Basscily there saying I have access to a computer Its not Mine I dont have my own user account, and I do not Know the password of the Admin or any other user wich might be allowed to login to this computer! Bassicly They dont want the owner of the computer to know that they have access. I am in no means a Hacker, and I really dont have any idea how to do this with out creating an account in safe mode, Or logging into the administrator account." Wich Was explained in detail Above." Is it not possible to bypass the login completly, or find the password either encrypted or other? If there is I would certanily be interested in hearing about it, or a procedure in how to do so !

I saw someone mention this earlier but after using it I want to tell everyone HOW GOOD THIS TOOL IS

http://www.xppasswordrecovery.co.uk

takes like 5 mins and then it tells you the old password without changing it.

Also as some people seem worried about installing stuff this program INSTALLS ON A FLOPPY DISK so there is no trace of it left ad it can be done on non-admin acounts.

HELP
I would really like to know the admin password at my school computers. they are in a small network and use windows XP, clasic log in (without wlcome screen), and almost all students have limited access user acounts. that sucks. Few chosen have the admin. password and we did thougt of beating it out of them but maybe I should try it like this first. So far one of my friend managed to find out that it has 9 characters and that's it.
if you have any sugestions, programs techniques, anything, please say. I didn't do this before.
thx

here is the situation my husband school gave him a laptop its a compaq and it was used by the school. ok so now we cant get into because they used something called novell client for windows wireless service.now when i go into safe mood to try to log on it ask for a password but we don't have it because the computer came from the school because they got new ones .it's like brand new and everything is there anyone who knows how to hack into or bypass the login. hellllpppppppp please.

There is a far better way to get into XP.. its easy. and it does not reset the password, so its ala-spy-mode.. lol.. of course dont do this on anyone elses computer and blah blah.. *snerk*.....

You need access to the machine and it needs a cd or dvd drive. You don't need access to any accounts.. First go here http://www.d--b.webpark.pl/dreampackpl_en.htm

scroll down till you see the downloads, and download the ISO DISC IMAGE.. this is the simplest way..

download it, unzip it, burn onto a disk using a burn program that can burn ISO images (you have to burn it as an iso image)

after you have the disk, turn off the computer you want into, reboot, put in disk, press f10 to get to the boot menu or whatever it is on that machine (a screen that has the boot menu option will show brefily as it reboots, press it while its on that screen)

boot from the disk drive the disk is in and u need to know the letter of the drive.. u can check it if u dont know after it boots.

after its booted, follow the instructions to install DREAMPACKPL do not install windows 2000 or anything else..

Follow the instructions on the dos-like screen u will get... it shows all instructions.. the only thing is where it asks you to type in i386 its actually I386 with capitol i not small i...

type exit to get out, take out disk, reboot..

in password feild type "dreamon" without the quotations, and the menu will come up.. click the top graphi on the dreampack menu and u will get a menu popup.. go to commands, enable the ones u want.. (i enabled the god command, loggonloggeron and loggonloggeroff.. etc)

close the dreamon menu, type in loggonloggeron in the password feild to turn it on, (nothing will happen, but its enabled) and then type in god to get into the account..

have fun.. lol..

later, type in dreamon in the password feild, click top graphic, goto loggonlogger menu and u can see all the logins that have typed in and you will know them. after you get these, you can uninstall dreampackpl using the uninstall on the menu.. do NOT manually uninstall you will screw the computer up bad... or you can leave it installed but id take if off to feel more comfortable..

another thing DO NOT login to dreampackpl using the dreamon command in the password feild WHNE SOMEONS LOGGED IN.. the virus protection will instantly catch this as a hacktool

OK! have fun!
